Ten-year-old Abby Navin takes a moment to look on as her freestyle partner practices a move. A fifth grader at Forbes School, Abby is one of the youngest members of the Forbes Flyers jump rope team who will compete at the USA Jump Rope regional tournament in New Hampshire later this month. If she places in the top three in any of her events, she will qualify to compete in the national tournament in Galveston, Texas.

The pair was practicing a move from their freestyle routine in which they do a push-up while jumping over a shared rope. They will perform this stunt in the USA Jump Rope regional tournament in New Hampshire later this month.

Michele Markel, Maryssa Brogis and Leslie Smith, all juniors at Torrington High School in Torrington, C.T. practice a jump rope trick called a "TJ." Brogis and Smith are two of the five members of the Forbes Flyers jump rope team who will compete in the FISAC World Jump Rope Tournament in London, England, in July.
